I was in an audience recently when a speaker took the stage with little more than a, “without further ado, here’s your speaker”. My reaction was…wait, WHAT!?!? WHO is this? WHY have they been given the privilege to speak to this audience?
I know I’m in the speaking business, so maybe I was more unsettled that the people around me 🙂 , but in reality, a speaker introduction facilitates the initial connection between the speaker and the audience. And an effective one has the audience open and intrigued to hear more.
