Katrina Mitchell
Founder | Chief Match Maker
Katrina’s background in business-to-business sales and marketing began during her years in print advertising sales.
From 2003-2007, Katrina was the owner of the Boulder, Colorado location of a global franchise, Bark Busters Home Dog Training, an award-winning, in-home, dog training approach. As a franchisee, Katrina learned first-hand the challenges and rewards of owning an effectively run franchise operation and the fundamental value of healthy franchisee/franchisor relationships and supportive system cultures.
Katrina founded Franchise Speakers in 2008 with a mission to help franchisees grow their businesses by providing systems with franchise-savvy thought leaders, subject matter experts, tactical business growth trainers, and jaw-dropping motivational speakers.
Being a natural “connector”, Katrina has been happily hunting down perfect matches for Franchise Speakers’ many clients ever since.
When not busy match-making, Katrina loves to hike with her blind Australian Shepherd, Cecil Roy on the many trails around Boulder. She also loves to ski, dance, bike, and take long road trips in her Airstream. Other passions include singing, knitting, painting, and reading.
Jessica Tinner
Director of Stellar Service & Queen of Details
Jessica joined the Franchise Speakers team in June 2021 and as Director of Stellar Service & Queen of Details, she is responsible for creating an extraordinary experience for our clients and speaker partners.
Jessica is a logistics superstar and runs the Franchise Speakers’ 107-point ‘Stellar Service Checklist’ on every event. Her title is “Queen of Details” for a reason – she never misses a beat and is the backbone behind our mission (and promise!) to deliver unparalleled customer and partner experiences.
Jessica is a dog mom to Missy, a rambunctious toy poodle. She is also a homebody who loves cooking scrumptious food at home with her husband and binge-watching her favorite shows. Something most people would never expect about Jessica is that she is a wild adventurer at heart—ask her about zip-lining with the team!
Melissa Staff
Systems Ninja, Sales Scout, & Client Happiness Advocate
Melissa joined the Franchise Speaker’s team in 2022. As our Systems Ninja, Sales Scout, & Client Happiness Advocate, she is our go-to solutions expert for …well… just about everything! She’s fondly known as “MelissaGPT” around here because there’s nothing that she can’t organize, simplify, and systematize. With a background in communication in the printing and publishing industries, Melissa is also a multi-talented graphic designer and is responsible for making us look and sound smart. And if that’s all not enough, Melissa is passionate about service and ensuring our clients are wildly happy.
When Melissa is not spending her time helping us keep the wheels on the bus at Franchise Speakers, she is happiest while spending time with family and friends. She loves music and especially enjoys singing magical harmonies.
Olivia Mazal
Bookkeeper Extraordinaire
Olivia Mazal is the owner of Bliss Bookkeeping. With over 17 years of experience in the business world, all the while successfully managing finances, Olivia is a wizard at keeping Franchise Speakers’ books running like clockwork. Her keen insights and ability to create simple and effective systems make her a huge asset to the Franchise Speakers team. Olivia is based in Boulder, CO with her husband and son where they enjoy Boulder’s sustainable and health-minded lifestyle. The Mazal family enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and cruising the isles of the local farmer’s market. Olivia has an MA in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Anthropology/Journalism from University of California, Santa Cruz.
